CREW

Elijah King

We began working on the DABNetwork halfway through the year to thoroughly cover all of the sports happenings within Davidson. We envisioned broadcasts and interviews where could provide information about events, stats, and to give atheltes the recognition for excelling in their sport. I've learned valuable skills in networking and face to face communication that will extend far past career facets. Some people forget that famous athletes are just as human as the students we interview today. Getting to know my fellow classmates has been great and I'm excited to see where and how they continue their journey as people and athletes. I would've liked to have more resources and better equipment for better production value but I believe we did a good job with what we had. I hope the crew for next year can carry the torch with honor and high expectations.

I joined the media communications class later in the second semester hoping to gain experiance in my aspirations of becoming a sports journalist. This experiance was great because I became more appreciative of our athletics here at Davidson, the hardwork put in by the students and coaches. I was also able to improve in communcation infront of cameras and interviewing skills. What I enjoyed most was this wasnt something I felt  was a assignment but more of a challenge to get better. I wish we could have done this years earlier but im glad I had the experiance at all. I hope for the future years they not only meet our expectations but exceed them to the fullest. Go Cats!!!

I signed up for The Media Communications Class in my senior year, and I was excited to make factual, yet entertaining news broadcasts. My main goal was to tell Hilliard Davidson about the great athletic performances that my classmates had performed. Daisheer, Elijah, and myself decided instead of waiting for an opportunity we were going to create this opportunity. We created The Davidson Athletics Broadcasting Network (D.A.B.N.) and started taking small steps to accomplish our goal . I learned how to edit videos and created our Twitter page

(@DABN_153). I plan on studying Journalism at The Miami University,

and working within this field this year granted me with more knowledge and

appreciation for my passion.
